Earth & Engineering Sciences Building, Classroom Demolition and Entrance Renovation
The existing Earth and Engineering Sciences (EES) Building addition (classrooms) is located within the proposed West Quad. Removing this addition will complete the master plan vision for a continuous outdoor space and a direct pathway and view through West Campus between the Westgate ramp and the new West Deck Parking Garage. With the removal of the addition on EES, the south facade will receive a new entry and vestibule as the main entrance into the building. The new entry will have a minimal footprint to preserve the view corridor through West Campus. It will be proportionate to other building entries on the West Quad and tie into the existing EES building without becoming a statement element. The renovation will also include a new study area adjacent to the vestibule for greater student activity on the main level.
