Welcome to Insite

Penn State Password

You have two accounts, your Penn State Account and your OPP Account. The passwords may be the same for both accounts, but if you change one, it will not change the other.

Your Penn State Account is used to log in anywhere you see the "Penn State Web Access" screen with the thumb-print.

You will use this login to access your time card, the Customer Information System (CIS), employee information in ESSIC, and various other PSU systems.

Changing Your Penn State Password

You need to change your Penn State password at regular intervals. You will receive email notifications when this needs to be done.

ITS Staff will never ask for your password via email, over the phone, or in person. The only valid way to change your Penn State password is through work.psu.edu/password. NEVER send your password via email or any other method.

  1. Select "Change my password."
  2. Log-in using your current Penn State password.
  3. Follow the instructions. Enter your access account ID, current password, and your new password. Enter your new password again in the last box to confirm it.
  4. Click on "Change Password" and you are finished.
  5. If you have not already set up your security questions, it is recommended that you do so.

Setting Up Your Security Questions

Set up your security questions at work.psu.edu/password.

  1. Choose "Set/Update my security questions."
  2. Verify your identity. On the next three screens, enter your PSU ID number, date of birth, and confirm your name.

I Have Forgotten my Password
