Orchard Road Closure Set for Oct. 2-7

Orchard Road will be closed beginning Oct. 2 through Oct. 7. Faculty, staff, students and visitors are encouraged to utilize alternate commuting routes to and from campus.

The closure will allow for trenching across the roadway for the installation of an electric duct bank, which will serve a potential solar energy installation. The work is in conjunction with construction of the Orchard Road Bike Path. 

Two message boards detailing the closure were installed on Sept. 25 at the intersection of Orchard Road and Park Ave and at the intersection of Orchard Road and Puddintown Road. Barricades blocking the road will be posted at the same two intersections for the duration of the project. Traffic will be detoured to Porter Road during construction.
