Preventive Maintenance for Perchloric Acid Fume Hood Scrubbers in ASI

Purpose:

To outline the procedures for performing preventative maintenance on the perchloric acid hood scrubbers in ASI

Policies and Procedures:

1. Turn on light switch for hood (this activates the wash down of the scrubber connected to the hood.) Allow wash down to run for 15 minutes.
2. Soak any work areas and screens within scrubber unit with hose. Be sure to soak back and front of screens thoroughly.
3. Check and replace screens if deteriorated.
4. Check if tellerettes have settled and add more if necessary.
