Preventive Maintenance for Perchloric Acid Fume Hood Scrubbers in ASI
Purpose:
To outline the procedures for performing preventative maintenance on the perchloric acid hood scrubbers in ASI
Policies and Procedures:
- Turn on light switch for hood (this activates the wash down of the scrubber connected to the hood.) Allow wash down to run for 15 minutes.
- Soak any work areas and screens within scrubber unit with hose. Be sure to soak back and front of screens thoroughly.
- Check and replace screens if deteriorated.
- Check if tellerettes have settled and add more if necessary.
