Chemical Fume Hood Preventive Maintenance
Purpose:
To inform trades persons as to the safety precautions that need to be taken before preventive maintenance is performed.
Policies and Procedures:
Prior to beginning, all work must be stopped by researchers and all containers must be closed, please insure that all researchers are properly notified. Please make sure that all hoods are labeled with the attached form during preventive maintenance to prevent serious injury from chemical exposure to trades people and researchers. Because it is more efficient, typically all the fume hoods within a building will be turned off at one time.
