Restroom Cleaning/Restocking Process Action Team
Goal:
Reduce time required to clean and restock restrooms while maintaining or exceeding current customer expectations.

Problem/Background:
- The average time required to clean and restock a restroom of 26 minutes is excessive.
- Current restroom cleaning/restocking procedures were established in 1968.
- Some pilot studies have been undertaken in years past.
Objective:
Reduce the time to clean a restroom to an average of 19 minutes.
Constraints/Resources:
- Seed money for investment in new equipment, dispensers, and chemicals would be available.
- Same standards of quality must be met.
- No additional staffing will be available.
Key Performance Measures:
- Annual average time to clean and restock a restroom.
- Annual average costs to clean and restock a restroom.
- Feedback from customers and Janitorial Foreman on quality standards maintained.
Expected Results:
Develop and implement a process for cleaning and restocking restrooms which minimizes the time required, and reduces costs while maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Review Milestones:
- Flow diagram of current process has been completed.
- Team has completed evaluation of options.
- Implementation plan has been developed.
