The Energy and Engineering Division of the Office of Physical Plant is responsible for the utilities, environmental systems at the University Park campus, as well as engineering support to all 23 campuses. The highly skilled technical-service workforce encompasses tradesmen in a broad spectrum of work areas.

The Energy and Engineering Division is broken into three sections: Engineering Services, Environental Services, and Utility Services. These areas provide a multitude of services to all the Education and General (E&G) organizations, in addition to providing this same support to Housing and Foods, Intercollegiate Athletics, and Business Auxiliaries.
