Commonwealth Services (CS) is a division within Penn State's Office of Physical Plant supporting the facility needs of the University's 28  Campuses and Research Centers throughout the Commonwealth, away from the University Park Campus.  Each of these facilities has its own physical plant staff and operating budget and is generally autonomous in its day to day operation. The primary functions of the CS staff are to supplement the staff at each location by providing advice on all facility needs; establish, monitor and enforce the policies, practices and procedures used to ensure consistency in the quality of facilities throughout the Penn State system; manage all construction and assist in defining, prioritizing and managing Major Maintenance Projects.
